Therapy FAQs

Please reach out at contact@ashleightorrancecbt.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

All sessions are delivered online via a secure video platform. Online therapy allows you to access support from the comfort of your own space, without travel or waiting rooms. Many clients find this approach more flexible, accessible and just as effective as in-person therapy.

Our sessions are confidential and conducted in line with the BABCP professional and ethical standards.

There’s no one-size-fits-all. Some people come to therapy to work through something very specific over a few months. Others may wish to stay longer if they find value in having a consistent, supportive space. Clients I've worked with in the past may even request the option of Ad-Hoc sessions as and when needed.
We’ll regularly check in to make sure you're finding it beneficial and getting what you want to from our sessions.

Yes! I offer online CBT therapy to adults across the UK, regardless of location.

Taking the step to start therapy is a brave act of self-care. It is completely normal to feel nervous, overwhelmed or unsure about what to expect. Our first appointment together will be a safe and collaborative space where we can start to understand what's brought you to therapy and what you'd like help with, whilst building trust within our therapeutic relationship.

No.

You do not need to have a mental health diagnosis to be able to engage with therapy.

You don't need to arrive with a label or an explanation. You can simply start with what you're experiencing, and we can make sense of it together.

You can come to therapy because you're struggling, feeling overwhelmed, experiencing changes in your mood or relationships, or simply want some support or a better understanding of yourself. You don't need to know exactly what's wrong before reaching out.

You don't have to have everything figured out before you start. That's part of what therapy is for.
